Multihog UK were delighted to support Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council at their recent environmental services driven Ashton Market Redevelopment event.
The event was designed to inform the public of the Council's scheme to redevelop Ashton’s outdoor market ground whilst also communicating the messages of ‘Safety on Construction Sites’ and ‘Do not play on Construction Sites’ to the younger audience and introduce the community to the recently purchased Multihog machine.
It was great to hear the reception received by the residents and it was clear they were impressed with the Council's shrewd investment, designed to save local tax payers money by enabling the Council to deliver a more efficient and permanent repair programme. It was especially pleasing to see the positive interaction between Council staff and the town's residents.
Not surprisingly, Multihog received countless enquiries to hire and purchase the vehicle from keen local's, although the Chemical Free Weed Controller, Suction Sweeper, Hedgecutter and Flail Mower attachments which generated most interest might not be cost-effective and within budget for maintenance of ones’ home!
The Council held a naming competition for their Multihog, there was opportunity for residents to take photos with The Considerate Constructors Scheme mascot Ivor Goodsite and Tameside Markets’ mascot ‘ Maggie the Magpie’ and to sit and experience the Multihog's in-cab comfort.
Following the recently published case study by the Council looking into the health and safety benefits provided by the Multihog, it is clear that the machine has been well received by all and there may well be more Multihogs on the way maintaining Tamesides resident's homes if the locals get their way!
