Darlington Borough Council are the latest local authority to take delivery of a Multihog, with the Council opting to purchase a brand new Multihog MX120 with Suction Sweeper, Patch Planer, Forklift Mast and Bucket attachments, enabling them to achieve yearlong utilisation of the machine.
The innovative Suction Sweeper attachment which was released late last year will no doubt provide significant advantages when carrying out highway repairs, with the attachment currently operating in Sheffield, Tameside and North Ayrshire, with Ian Evans APSE representative for the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) project to 'Reduce ill health in paving, road and highway work’ highlighting the operational benefits provided by the Multihog, particularly through the Suction Sweeper in our recent case study.
Residents in Darlington can soon expect to see the Council's Hungry Hog across the network tackling potholes, small/large patching schemes and footway repairs, with it likely the unit will contribute to reduced disruption when carrying out highway repairs partially due to the low noise levels.
